Inspired by one of Canberra’s most legendary creative partnerships.
Her name was Marion Mahony, and her impact on Lake Burley Griffin and Canberra has been under represented in our collective history, until now.
While we credit Walter Burley Griffin as the founding mastermind of Canberra’s civic design, few know of Marion Mahony, Walter’s long time creative and romantic collaborator, who’s contribution to the design of Canberra’s iconic city and lake has gone largely undocumented and unrecognised.
